What do you think of artists in the music industry? Do you listen to music? What's you favorite music to listen to? Do you think the beatles were what they said they were?
While I like all kinds of music, I have always been drawn to the unusual, different types of music. Everything from the Throat music of the Tibetian Monks to the Synth Classical sounds of Turned On Bach. I love jazz as well as anything different. During the 80s I worked for a sound company setting up the stage & sound equipment for folks like Stevie Ray Vaughn & Willie Nelson. I got to meet many musicians & found them for the most part to be regular folks like anybody else. Of course, musicians do tend to be a bit egotiscial & slightly selfish in their point of view, but I think that comes from being adored by so many people telling them how fantastic they are all the time. This was the time when everyone was heavily into drugs & I was shocked by how some of them took it to such excess. I've actually seen Eric Clapton so drunk during a concert that he forgot the words to songs & actually threw up into the audence. I'm glad that folks have wised up to the dangers of excess & hopefully have a clearer view of their world. As for myself, I have always loved the music of Todd Rundgren. It wasen't until recently that I began to realize the meaning of many of his songs such as "Just One Victory", "Love Is The Answer" & "Initiation". Check out his "Something/Anything" & "Initiation" albums. While I know many kids look up to musicians & expect thay they have the answer to everything, I know from personal experence that musicians are just plain folks like everybody else who happen to be gifted enough to make a lot of money from sharing their gifts with the world. But as far as knowing the secrets of life, the universe & everything, most of them are as clueless as the rest of us. I don't know what the Beatles said about themselves, but I do have a lot of respect for what they accomplished during their time here as a group & indivudually.

I didn't think anybody even remembered Todd Rundgren!
I wore out Something/Anything in both vinyl and cassette, eventually I'll buy it on CD, but I don't think you can wear out a CD:-)
